Somewhere I read that Merritt really focused not on making the songs about Love per se, but on making the album *about* love songs. i actually..."broken basset hound voice"? perfect. <br /><br />i actually studied last night and i have to say, one of the most impressive things about 69LS is that it captures nearly every dimension of the various types of love. the narrator is rejected then he's gloriously happy then he's amazed that he's about to do something he probably shouldn't with someone he knows is wrong for him and then he's just pleased to hear his lover say goodnight then he just really loves to dance. i think it's easy to say, "wow, 69 love songs is a lot" but when you think about it, being able to capture all of that and more in <I>just</I> 69 songs is really rather exquisite. ok. i'm done thinking.<br /><br />ps. i heart AMLW...olinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18293469099878376568noreply@blogger.com
